✏️Literacy Centers:
🍀Lephrechaun's CVC Treasure Hunt
This hands-on decoding activity is always a hit. Kids match CVC words to pictures and cover them with color-coded math cubes. One of my favorite moments? My daughter started giggling as she built a word and said, “This is like a word treasure map!” It turns reading into a mini adventure.

🪞Leprechaun Tricks: Magic Mirror Words
This one brings out so many giggles! Students use mirrors to read backward CVC words—a leprechaun trick, of course! My son was amazed the first time the mirror "fixed" the word. This center adds a bit of magic to phonics practice.

🪙Pot of Gold Mystery Words
Kids look at the picture clues, say the beginning sounds, and build CVC words in the letter boxes—a fun phonics challenge that fits perfectly with Science of Reading routines. I love using this in small groups because it gives kids that lightbulb moment—they feel so proud when they figure out the mystery word!

🎲 Roll, Read, & Cover CVC Words
This game fits perfectly into morning tubs or early finisher bins. Students roll, read a CVC word in the matching row, and cover it with a counter. It’s simple, no-prep, and great for building fluency.

🪙Read, Find, & Cover CVC Words
Students look at each CVC word printed on a pot of gold and find the matching picture on their mat. It’s a fun, independent activity that builds decoding and word-picture recognition—great for morning tubs or literacy centers!

➕Math Centers:
🪙Pot of Gold Addition
Using yellow bingo chips and clover answer mats, students solve addition problems in a fun, visual way. They place the correct number of “gold coins” on each side of the pot, add them together, and cover the sum on a clover. It’s a hands-on way to build early addition skills while keeping things festive and engaging.

🍀Shamrock Subtraction
This hands-on center helps kids understand subtraction in a visual, concrete way. Using shamrock mats and themed manipulatives, students fill the frame, take away, and cover the answer. I use pom-poms or mini erasers to keep little hands busy and focused. It’s calm, clear, and builds real number sense—especially for kids who need to see what’s happening when we subtract.

📏 Lucky Leprechaun Measuring
One of my kids’ favorites! They use math cubes to measure rainbows, leprechaun hats, and gold coins. It’s a magical way to introduce nonstandard measurement and build number sense.

🌈 Rainbow Count & Write
Students count rainbow items like pom-poms or bingo chips and write the number. I add markers for rainbow writing too! Great for counting, fine motor, and number formation.

🍀Roll-A-Shamrock
Roll the die, find the number, and cover the shamrock! This center is always a hit in morning tubs and keeps kids engaged while practicing number recognition and subitizing.

🌈Build-A-Rainbow Patterns
This one is great for fine motor and math! Kids bead pipe cleaners to match pattern cards. One child proudly told me, “I made a rainbow snake!” It’s that kind of joyful learning I love.

📂How I Use These Centers
I prep each center once, store them in plastic bins and pull them out each March. Most just need dice, cubes, chips, or clothespins—nothing fancy. Here’s how I rotate them:
✅ Morning Tubs – Low-prep, hands-on favorites like Roll-A-Shamrock or the CVC games to start the day with playful focus
✅ Centers – Use during small group time to target decoding, fluency, number sense, and measurement through engaging practice
✅ Early Finishers – Easy-to-manage, independent activities that feel like games but build real skills
✅ Homeschool Time – I love using the Mirror Words and Pattern Rainbows for playful, skill-based review with my own kids at home
My son’s favorite was building rainbow patterns and measuring leprechaun boots. These small moments remind me why hands-on learning sticks so well—because it feels like play.
